Visitors Permits
Visitors wishing to bring
non-prohibited, legal firearms into England, Scotland or Wales
must first obtain a Visitor's Firearms Permit.
Applications for visitor's
permits must be made on behalf of the visitor, to the Chief
Officer of Police, by a Firearm Certificate holder who has rights
or title to the land for using firearms. In most cases we would
act as your sponsor, assuming that you are stalking with our
sporting organisation,.
Most members of EU countries must
be in possession of a European Firearms Pass which should be
forwarded with the application for the permit. This must be the
original and not a photocopy
Applications should be made well in
advance of the required date, to allow the proper enquiries to be
made. Eight to ten weeks should be allowed for this process to be
completed. The information necessary will be provided by us, if
we are acting as your sponsor. The police would address all
enquiries to us, and it is important that we have a viable
contact telephone, E-mail or fax number to refer questions back
to our client.
When a permit is granted it will be
sent to us, and we will forward it to you, for presentation to
customs on your arrival in Great Britain. The visitor's
permit will be accepted in lieu of a Department of Trade &
Industry import licence. Failure to produce the permit at the
time of importation may render the firearms/shotguns liable to
detention or seizure.
Please
contact us if any points need further clarification or you have
any problems in Firearm Certificate applications.
