Shortly after Christmas 2003, we were told that there had been a
road traffic accident (RTA) involving a (roe) deer and a motor
car, on a road running through one of our southern estates.
Fortunately the driver was not seriously injured, but he told
local people who had come to his assistance that the deer had
collided with his car, and though it had moved back to the
estate, it was probably seriously injured.
Even though it was the Christmas vacation for many people, we
thought it important to locate this doe, and assembled a small
team of experienced stalkers to locate this animal. and, in the
deer's best interest, to take whatever action was required.
One of our company stalkers had received a new digital camera for
his Christmas present, and he had brought it with him to
try. (Perhaps, also to prove he had really gone stalking)
